FAQs

What does ‘made-to-order’ mean?

Made-to-order means your order is cut and manufactured when an order is placed through. This process can take up to three weeks. This also means we carry minimal to no stock, our only physical garments are our samples, and our ‘stock’ is in the form of fabric rolls. Made-to-order enables us to react to customer fit amendments and special requests, and offer a more inclusive size range UK 8-28.

Do you design for men or kids?

Our current ready-to-wear collection is only available for women, however our bespoke service is available for everyone. We design, pattern cut and manufacture our products made-to-order in-house enabling us to respond to all bespoke orders. We are looking into expanding our product range to menswear in the future.

Do you do bridal or wedding dresses?

Yes - the HARRIET KJELLMAN way. Our bride appreciates the conceptually minimalistic brand aesthetic and how we work together with our customer to bring the vision into realisation.

Bridal orders are fully bespoke orders and can take several weeks to deliver due to material sourcing, development, fittings and final manufacturing.

What is your size range?

Current ready-to-wear collection is available in sizes UK 8-28 / US 4 - 24. Our design and manufacturing processes enable us to offer a more inclusive size range to cater our customers needs in a more positive manner. The broad size range combined with our ability to react to fit alterations enable us to cater for our plus size, tall, petite and other customers.

Please visit our size guide for more information.

Can I make changes to your designs?

Due to made-to-order production, we welcome basic garment alterations, i.e. sleeve or leg length, or combining two sizes in one garment to create the perfect fit, i.e. narrow waist with wider hips. Get in touch directly through our contact form prior to ordering to minimise any issues. These orders are subject to T’s & C’s.

More demanding orders may to considered as bespoke orders.

Do you only use denim?

Our current collection is designed using 100% cotton denim, however we do not limit ourselves to a single type fabric. Future design and collection will include a broader range of materials including linen, shirting and suiting.

Where can I buy your clothes and accessories?

We sell directly to our customers via our online store, artisan markets or specialist fashion events in the UK.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept debit / credit card and Paypal. You can also select Clearpay which offers a 4 interest-free payments option (T’s & C’s apply)

Why is there only one delivery option for UK?

Due to our three week delivery commitment of your made-to-order item, other options are not required. You can request other arrangements by getting in touch with us directly prior to ordering. More information in Shipping & Returns.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes, please get in touch with us directly prior to ordering to confirm delivery arrangements and prices.

Are you a sustainable brand?

As a small independent brand, we are committed to researching and exploring sustainable methods that we can apply to our brand effectively, realistically and economically.

At present, we design and manufacture all orders ethically to order as required. This means we do not have stock, we do not have surplus garments at the end of the season, no need for sales or discounts devaluing designs.

Our garments are Made In Britain. Our highly skilled machinists are freelance, which means ethically they get paid a living wage and work in safe environments.

Our denim collection is designed using 100% cotton denim making our designs hardwearing, and our designs are sustainably timeless making them stylish rather than trendy.

We source high quality surplus dead stock or end-of-rolls through our local suppliers that are often very limited quantities. We believe we have a small impact in reducing the waste produced by the fashion and textile industries by using surplus materials.
